We cannot use the offline folder with encryption since the problem appeared. Source
To do this, follow these steps: 1. Maybe if enough users let them know there's a problem out here, they will find a solution. Thanks for the input. A copy of the CTL with an expired signing certificate exists in the %windir%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache\CryptnetUrlCachefolder directory.
I too tried the Microsoft Fix It For Me tool for this problem, rebooted, but still got the same error on startup. this according to a moderator's link about this same issue. I don't have BCLeasyPDF and no such file exists. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 3:38 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Looks like mine is clear now.
Event details are much more specific in the CAPI2 log. http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7repair/thread/8f6a032a-86c2-4f54-a0bb-9ea6e45384d2 the following was from a post in that thread by rjw40: If you enable CPI2 logging no errors are displayed in the Application Event Viewer. Ken My System Specs System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavillion dv-7 1005 Tx OS Win 8 Release candidate 8400 CPU [email protected] Memory 4 gigs Graphics Card Nvidia 9600M Sound Card HD built-in Capi2 4107 Error Windows 7 If I disable it in Task Scheduler then no more CAPI2 errors.
For more information, visit this website: From the states message, it indicates that the system time is incorrect, the certificate has expired, or the time of the system that signed the Microsoft Windows Capi2 4107 I found several forum threads on this one by searching CAP 12 Error. Thanks! I tried one suggestion on downloading the root list manually, but I don't know where to put it.
The sending system clock is accurate. Microsoft-windows-capi2 513 funny thing is this is as i stated and google shows the second time many of us got this...last time was after sp2 for vista...immediately after it was in event viewer. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Sent in a trouble ticket to the windows update team since the cert is coming from this site.
The last CAPI2 entry was dated 7:09 pm tonight. http://www.itexperience.net/2010/10/25/event-4107-failed-extract-of-third-party-root-list-from-auto-update-cab/ maybe a level 2 tech. Microsoft-windows-capi2 Error 513 One of the result links (over at tomshardware.com) says that the problem will "clear itself" in time. "In time"?? first one is a memory dump blue screen issue and the other is just the game crashing. Microsoft Certificate Trust List Publisher Certificate I did a Bing search on it (Event ID 4107), and one of the results is a link right to this message board!! Update: Looks like Microsoft got it fixed.
At approximately 7:09 pm on Monday, July 12th, the CAPI2 event errors stopped on my PC and have notreoccurred. I tried Susan's method posted below but my servers hang at Applying Computer Settings when I restart them. so i wonder if "enabling capi2 logging" keeps the error from coming up in event viewer under "overview and summary" which is where i usually look. Capi2 Error 4101 It seems unlikely as they are all enabled except for CAP12 which I changed back to disable.

Will continue to investigate and report back. I'm getting the feeling MS just doesn't care whether their stuff works or not.
