The problem is the next bit: The Windows XP setup copies files to the Windows Installation folders. If it works, then good for you. I think it was the laser failing in the old drive. Tried repair, cannot copy this file, tried new install cannot copy this file F3 abort cause retry does not help. Windows Xp Cd If you only have one computer in the house and its the one with the corrupt System32 then you'll have to go round a friend's house with a USB and download/install

The copy error went off and then it said that for the setup to proceed further I should insert my XP HE cd. So I decide to take the hard-drive out of the computer and put it in my computer (totally different computer). check over here Updated bios and still same problem. Using a cheaper brand actually solved this. You probably need a Service Pack update after the install anyway and all or at least a lot of the real important files will get updated/replaced.
